Welcome to ISCTE!

ISCTE, Lisbon University Institute, is a state university institute essentially directed to three main fields: Social Sciences, Business Studies and Technologies. The ISCTE was established in 1972 and is a fast growing University with approximately 8000 students and about 450 academic members. In addition there are 200 members of staff in non-academic posts.It is located in Lisbon's University Campus.
ISCTE has seven Departments (Anthropology, Architecture, Economics, Information Sciences and Technologies, History, Psychology and Sociology), the ISCTE Business School (IBS) and one Teaching and Scientific Area of African Studies. At present the University offers 15 graduate programmes, 26 postgraduate degrees and more than 50 master's programmes to choose from it all. ISCTE also offers 16 PhD Programmes.

We also aim to provide students with the essential information and guidance about academic aspects on subjects ranging from entry and residence procedures, health care, accommodation, lectures and other useful information.
This Website has been specially conceived to assist all incoming international students who intend to temporarily study at ISCTE through the LLP/Erasmus Programme, by means of any specific bilateral agreement or as a visiting student.
The International Relations Office (IRO)
The International Relations Office (IRO) has the main task of supporting the general international policy and activities. Therefore, it works mainly in the area of promotion and intensification of cooperation agreements with foreign universities with the ultimate objective to raise the standard of education by giving students and teaching staff the opportunity to benefit from an experience abroad.
The IRO provides support in developing new European Community funded education programmes like ERASMUS, LEONARDO DA VINCI, INTENSVE PROGRAMMES, SANTANDER PROGRAMME, TEMPUS, OPEN AND DISTANCE LEARNING ACTIONS.
You will find our office if you enter the Central Building through the main entrance and turn to the "south" corridor (room 1S11).
